The week I almost lost it
The lowest point of my journey so far (2025. 08. 11. - 2025. 08. 18.)
I went to camp after a productive period of 4 days.
But after camp? A completely different story.
This was the roughest week I’ve had in a while.
Hi there!
I’m Zoli, the 16 y/o working on a tech business from scratch, documenting my journey, both the wins and failures.
What (little) I got done
I truly feel embarrassed to write this down, but here’s what I’ve done this week:
I’ve progressed with coding learning (finished frontend learning, started backend)
I progressed just a bit in the sales course
And that’s all I accomplished in seven full days. Still no progress in Figma, no Substack posts, no reading. Barely any work for NexFlow. Nothing external was blocking me; it was all me. I was lazy, distracted, and making excuses.
What’s next?
Next week, my main objective is to get back my productivity. I want to finish the first step of this journey strong by completing most tasks I planned (you can check them here). I still believe that I’m realistic when aiming for these goals. There are only 2 weeks left until school starts again, and I must use this time effectively.
Here are some tangible goals I set for next week:
Return to Substack by writing 2 posts (if you read this, I was successful)
Continue coding journey (finish backend, learn Git)
Finish the Figma final project
Restart the sales course properly (listen carefully, take notes)
Start reading the 4-Hour Workweek
Start planning for the next few months
A takeaway from this week
Everybody experiences dips in motivation and drive. What’s important is what you do about it. You can quit saying “I failed“ or “it’s too hard“. You can also use this sudden fall to gain momentum and get back stronger.
While this week was hard mentally, the idea of quitting didn’t even cross my mind. I’m using this fall to bounce higher.
See you next week
We can all agree, this week wasn’t the best. But this doesn’t mean that the journey is over: quite the opposite. Next week, you can expect another weekly update, but one with much more success.
If you ever have a week like mine, don’t beat yourself up. Just get back up like me, and next week, we’ll both do better.
